Unnamed poem

As the day grows dark
and dogs howl not
the last fight out
they all a mark
to show that they are alive
vut hidden in the shadows not making a sounds
taking a dive
for the closest cover
hoping not to be in a corner
hiding, crying
living on and on
wishing to see the dawn
